To aid families in stressful situations by providing some measure of financial relief to help them bridge a gap in their own resources and/or to assist an individual or couple to become more fully functioning family member's) through education or training. The definition of a family for the purposes of this fund shall be construed liberally and shall mean minimally that two generations of persons who consider themselves a family reside together under one roof and perform the basic functions of caring for one another. The size or composition of the family by this definition shall be a minimum of two persons, each of a different generation. If in the wisdom of the Board of the Community Foundation this definition excludes individuals who for all intents and purposes are a family and who would benefit from this fund, the Board may make specific exceptions to this guideline. The application and use of this fund shall not be done in such a manner as to discriminate for or against any person on the basis of race, sex, religion, political affiliation, nationality, sexual orientation, disability or any other factor not directly relevant to the consideration of how this fund shall be administered and how the intended beneficiaries may benefit.
