Talawanda Alumni Hall of Achievement Promise Scholarship
The Talawanda Hall of Achievement Promise Scholarship represents a collaborative effort between the Greater Oxford Community Foundation and the Talawanda Hall of Achievement, a group of Talawanda High School (THS) alumni and retired teachers who wish to recognize the accomplishments of THS graduates.
Kristine Rose Winkler (84) and David Winkler (76), who have spearheaded this project, shared with us, “This award is for students who show great promise in changing the world. Our hope is that students get a boost they were not expecting and are recognized for talents they don’t even know they have. We want to encourage students to reach for the stars and see that their community is behind them.”
Unlike traditional scholarships focused solely on academic merit or financial need, this scholarship celebrates students who demonstrate exceptional potential and unique gifts. Nominees are identified by educators, administrators, and coaches who recognize their remarkable promise. Candidates are evaluated not on their proficiency in communication or writing, but rather on their potential to effect positive change in society.
The GOCF takes great pride in supporting this uplifting scholarship initiative and eagerly anticipates full realization.
