"Where There's A Will, There's A Way"

  How to Include
The Oxford Community Foundation
in your will

"Who does not befriend himself by doing good?"                                   -Sophocles (496? - 406 BC)

A simple bequest is a powerful way to express who you are and what you value. When you commit to a bequest to the Oxford Community Foundation, you show you care about your community and its future. You may:

  • direct your gift to a cause for which there is already an endowed Fund within the Foundation
  • name a new endowed Fund for the cause of your choice
  • direct that the Directors of the Foundation use your gift wherever the need is greatest
Whichever method you choose, your gift will help to assure that the good works of the Foundation will prosper and grow.

Where there's a will...
Everyone should have a will and possibly a trust as well. However, more than half of us die without one or the other of these documents. This does a disservice to our families. If you die intestate, the state's court system may make decisions that you would better have made yourself. Your will is the cornerstone of all other estate planning, and it is one of the most economical. Some people put off writing a will, believing it is too soon. On the contrary, waiting until the time is right may mean the time will never be right. The time for assuring that your family and community interests are provided for as you would wish is now.

The Legacy Society

People who make major testamentary bequests to the Oxford Community Foundation may choose to be members of the Legacy Society. This gives the people of Oxford an opportunity to recognize the generosity of donors during their lifetimes.

Advantages of giving through the Foundation:

  • Your gift will keep on giving, even after your lifetime, to generations to come.
  • Your gift may be designated for a specific cause.
  • You may name your Fund for your family, a friend, or a purpose.
  • Your gift will be flexible enough to meet Oxford's changing needs, should your cause become obsolete.
  • Contributions may ease your tax burden.
  • Your gift is professionally managed.

...There's a way.
