IRA Charitable Rollover

The extension includes a special modification allowing taxpayers 70 ½ and older to make transfers up to $100,000 of your IRA assets annually for  2010 and 2011 to a qualified public charity such as the Oxford Community Foundation. Since the assets you transfer will not be recognized as income, they will not trigger federal taxes today or estate tax in the future. If you are married, you and your spouse can each transfer up to $100,000 per year.  Talk with your tax advisor today.

Teachers Awarded Learning Links Grants

Leaning Links, a grant program for children, financed by First Financial Bank and given  through the Oxford Community Foundation, recently awarded grants to the Talawanda School district.

Learning Links provides $2,000 annually for creative and interesting programs or events for classrooms in the Talawanda School district.

Some examples of grants awarded are:

At Marshall Elementary School, teachers will now have an iPAD 2 that will be used to help students with disabilities use technology as an alternative way of practicing and showing their understanding of concepts and instruction. The iPad 2 will help teach, motivate, and assess students in the elementary setting.

Kramer Elementary received a grant to support its spring Cultural Pride Day, a school-wide celebration of the diversity that makes-up the Kramer students & staff.

At Bogan Elementary, gifted students, working with a local architect to design and build a project, have the needed materials to build the bridge, which will be displayed and judged at the main library in Cincinnati.
